I started playing tennis at the age of 11 after I found an old tennis racket on the attic. I made my mom buy tennis balls and I started hitting against the wall for hours on end. It drove my mom crazy so she eventually registered me for a tennis camp. This was the start of my love affair with tennis. As a junior, I played Belgian Championships twice (singles and interclub). I started coaching when I was 16 so I have been coaching for 17 years now. I have experience working with all ages (3-90). I have coached kids tennis, private lessons, tennis camps. I also worked for the Flemish Tennis Association (Tennis Vlaanderen) promoting tennis at sports events. I still love to compete as well. Last year my interclub team played the semi-final of the Belgian Championships. Not only has tennis given me the chance to grow as a player and a human being, but I have also developed lifelong friendships. In addition to coaching, I was also an English teacher in grade 11 and 12. My favorite player is Roger Federer and I got to see him play at the Rogers Cup 2 years ago. I am new to Canada, I arrived last year in August. I did all my coach development courses in Belgium (ITF recognized) and I am currently getting an equivalency with Tennis Canada (Club Pro 2). I am excited to be part of the Capital Kids Tennis program and I am really looking forward to working with all of you.
